     The importance of risk taking

There is an old saying that states “where there is no risk then there is no reward.”  There are things in life that are for certain, you will pay taxes and you will die.  Life is not a collection of days that’s been planned on accident.  Life is very deliberate and on purpose.  In most cases if you’re not where you want to be in life then you’re either failing at something or your not doing enough of the right things.  In the bible “ Ecclesiastes 9:11  It states that,  “Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.”  So in other words, we are all given a chance to be something in life.  It doesn’t matter who becomes successful first because your life is not a race with someone else rather your life is a race with yourself.  Your biggest adversary in life is not your teacher, lawyer, friend, or enemy, your biggest adversary in life is yourself.  You and only you can make or break yourself.  So if your not where you expect to be then its time to reexamine your motives.

You have to understand that living a successful life will depend on the risks you choose to take. Life is not going to sit back and give you gifts.  Life is not Santa Clause so stop expecting hand outs. Abraham Lincoln stated it best.  “ Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” New opportunities, new jobs, new adventures will always live outside your comfort zone. People who take risks decide to take the road less taken and usually reap higher rewards.  If you want a better life or if you want to reach all your goals then risk taking has to become a habit and a part of life for you, no exceptions.  So if you’ve been putting off starting a business  because you’re afraid of the unknown then it’s time to create a plan of action to get your business up. If you’re fed up with your current job, but are afraid to step into something new, then it’s time to create an exit strategy and plan a date to jump ship. Will you fail a few times before you hit your target? probably! Will you go through hard times? More than likely! Will you lose sleep? Sure you will! But just as much as you can fail, you can also win and succeed.  Life is full of lakes of happiness and wealth, but you may never know if you never take risks in life.
